Berdj and Mano Artinian


Berdj and Mano were co-founders of HPASS. All seven of their grandchildren attend the Saturday School. Mano is a teacher's assistant in the orange class, has a BA in Languages and enjoys arts and travel. Berdj is the official coffee provider of the school and helps organizing special events. He usually refers to himself as the "janitor".

Nairi Artinian


Nairi Artinian joined HPASS in September 2006.  She completed her post graduate degree in teaching from York University, specializing in primary/junior education.  Nairi has been a member of the Ontario College of Teachers since September 2000. She thoroughly enjoys teaching the youngest members of our school, the orange class creatively through music, movement and art.










  Christine Ermarkaryan


Christine was one of the founders of HPASS in September 2005.  She enjoys the challenge and creativity associated with motivating students to learn Armenian every Saturday morning in a FUN way, including her two daughters.  She teaches the Red and Blue Class “Armenian Culture” along with Taline Paroyan.  She has fond memories of attending Armenian Saturday School and Armenian Day Camp in Hamilton, Ontario when she was a student.   She is a Chemical Engineer with an MBA during the week and enjoys shopping and travelling in her spare time.












Lucie Hamboyan


Lucie Hamboyan is a graduate from Melkonian Educational Institute, Cyprus and from St. Francis Xavier University, Canada with education diplomas from both institutions. She has taught for many years, from elementary school to university levels. Tara and Lucie teach Armenian language in the Blue Class, complementing each other and fusing their varied teaching methods and experiences. Their objectives include providing a fun-filled atmosphere where students socialize and connect with other Armenian kids.











Ani Kerametlian


Ani Joined Halton Peel Armenian Saturday School in September 2009 as a teacher’s assistant in the Red Class. Her background includes a BA from Beirut College for Women (BCW) by the authority of the University of the State of New York and a ‘Teachers of English as a Second Language’ Certificate from Humber College of Applied Arts and Technology.













Arpi joined HPASS in September 2008 and makes sure that all her grandchildren are there every Saturday.  She teaches the Red Class “Armenian Language” and believes in making learning fun with activities that include Show & Tell, Conversation, Games, Reading and Writing.  She enjoys running and acting so don’t be surprised to see her class on its feet.












Taline has been with HPASS since 2005.  She is a certified Ontario teacher with a specialist in second language education and Environmental Studies.  Along with her colleague Christine Ermarkaryan, Taline enjoys teaching Armenian culture to both the Red and Blue classes. 









  Frank Petizan


Frank started teaching music at HPASS in the 2008-09 school year.  He has always been passionate with music being in various garage bands during his youth and a few years in the St. Noel Chabanel Elementary School orchestra playing the clarinet.  Frank is keeping this passion alive by working towards Level 7 certification in Piano at the Royal Conservatory.   He has a B.Eng in Engineeing from McMaster University.   He is the founder and current director of the Noor Children’s Choir at HPASS.
